Guangzhou Medical University
Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) is a premier medical institution in South China, particularly famous for its Respiratory Medicine department, which is ranked #1 in China (led by the renowned Prof. Zhong Nanshan). Founded in 1958, it has evolved into a comprehensive medical hub that integrates clinical care, education, and world-class research.
The university operates primarily across two main campuses:
Panyu Campus: The modern, main base for international students and undergraduate education, located in the Xinzao Town area.
Yuexiu Campus: The historic campus in downtown Guangzhou (Dongfeng Xi Road), situated near several of the university’s top affiliated hospitals.
