Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is a "Double First-Class" and "Project 211" university located in the historic city of Zhengzhou, Henan Province. As the largest university in China by student population, it serves as a massive research and education hub. ZZU is particularly famous for its Medical College (formerly Henan Medical University), which was one of the first in China to offer English-taught MBBS programs.
The university operates across four major campuses, covering nearly 1,000 acres:
Main Campus: Located on Kexue Avenue (High-tech Zone). It is the primary base for international students, housing modern teaching blocks and international dormitories.
East Campus: Located on Daxue North Road. This is the "Medical Campus," home to the First Affiliated Hospital of ZZU (the largest hospital in the world by bed count).
South Campus: The historic campus centered around Daxue Road.
North Campus: Located on Wenhua Road, focusing primarily on technical and engineering disciplines.

ZZU offers some of the most competitive living costs for a top-tier Chinese university.
Accommodation (Main Campus):
Double Shared Room: ~5,500 CNY per year.
Single Room: ~11,000 CNY per year.
Living Costs: Zhengzhou is significantly more affordable than coastal cities like Shanghai or Guangzhou. Students typically spend 1,500 – 2,200 CNY per month on food and local expenses.
Insurance: 800 CNY per year (Mandatory).
